Hey guys!

How are we all doing?

So this week has gone super quick for me, like crazy quick. It's 9pm on Thursday and I still have a bunch of stuff on my to-do list, but I do feel I've been fairly productive this week.

Along with the usual, grocery shop, taking Mark to the airport, the housework (which I've still got bathrooms to clean and hoovering and mopping to do before tomorrow!) vet's visits and trying to make sure I'm eating healthy and keeping out of the treat box! I actually started the rest of the decking which I've been banging on about (mainly on my vlogs) for ages.

I did the small decking a couple of months ago and the big decking for one reason and another kept getting delayed. I did start one section of the balustrades a few weeks ago and on Tuesday I finally picked up the paint brush again and carried on. I had a really good day of it and got all the balustrades painted which I really didn't expect. And then yesterday (Wednesday) I did the staircase and bannisters. So I'm really chuffed with what I've achieved.

It's one of those jobs that you kinda put off, but you know it really needs to be done. The wood gets so weathered and dull so quickly. But when it's done, my goodness it's does look good, if I do say so myself.

I just have the boards to do now. I say just, but that will be another full 2 to 3 days solid work, but again it'll be so worth it in the end.

Hopefully I get started on that in a couple of weeks.

The good thing about being engrossed in a DIY project is that it keeps me out of the shops and spending haha.

I did get my hair done today though. I had a full head of highlights and I feel brand new again. I didn't have it cut because after the big chop earlier in the year, I now fancy growing it a little bit longer again. I do like being able to tie it in a nice pony, especially in the summer.

I've been looking at my Instagram too and I am going to start posting more of my daily outfits. Mainly because now we have a lovely new hallway mirror I can do the classic mirror selfies again!

I do find Instagram a bit of a minefield sometimes, but I'm just going to treat it as my own personal diary I guess. Just sharing with you guys basically whatever is going on and try not to overthink it all, it wears you out doesn't it? Trying to keep up with it all. But I'm taking the pressure off and just using it how I want to too, I find it more enjoyable that way.

I'm still cringing at myself a little bit with the whole YouTube thing, but I am proud of myself for actually doing it and learning to edit videos.

I'm also really looking forward to the weekend and next week as Mark is home all week. It's bank holiday in the UK and he has a mix of working from home days and a couple of leave days. The weather has really warmed up too so I'm hoping for lot's of beach walks and relaxing by the pool.

Right I better stop nattering and I really must get on with the rest of my housework before it get's too late!

How to bring colour back into your life (on a budget)

 I saw a post on Instagram the other day and I've seen some more similar recently too, it was comparison pictures of present day compared to the 60's, 70's, 80's. Showing how much more colourful everything was back then compared to all the muted tones we have today. It really got me thinking that it's so true. It really does seem like the colours are being faded out of our life. I've realised I'm always trying to find little ways to bring more colour back in, because it genuinely makes a difference. Colour lifts your mood, adds personality and just makes life feel a bit more cheerful, don't you think? Of course colour hasn't disappeared completely. But when you look around at buildings, cars, even the way interiors are styled and shown to us it's all very grey, beige and toned down. Don't get me wrong I do love a neutral colour palette. Love living in Spain again & why I had doubts previously

We've had a house in Spain for twelve years now and have been living here permanently for nearly ten. What started off as a holiday home with a view for far into the future for it to become a place to retire to, soon became our permanent home.  We loved it so much we made the decision to sell up the UK house when we returned from five years living in the UAE and Mark, myself, Poppy and Lily (we only had two fur-babies at the time) move to the house in Spain. Mark would commute and I'd continue being the household manager and stay at home cat-mum. Commuting for Mark is hard ( I'll touch more on commuting life in future posts ) but the reward to coming home to the sun at the end of the week is worth it.  Since the move over full-time we have moved house within Spain and are much happier in the new house. The plot and the location to us is so much better then our last place, it feels worlds apart actually. We never intended to move, but that's life isn't it...

My favorite summer potatoes

  I love food and what I love even more is quick and easy food that tastes delicious and my summer potatoes are just that! So let's dive in. This is so easy and is nothing new or groundbreaking, but sometimes I think we need to remind ourselves that it's ok to go back to the basics, to keep things simple, and do you know what, most of the time that's the best, especially when it comes to food. As soon as new potatoes hit the shops they're in my trolley. We definitely know summer has arrived and every dish that would have a jacket potato, chips or roasties are being replaced by my favourite summer potato.
