Hi Guys,
I hope 2026 is treating you well so far.
In my previous post I mentioned about some beauty products I had just started using and I will report to you my thought's in due course, but it got me to thinking about the products I already use on a daily basis. My bathroom staples if you like, the go-to's.
It's something I'm always curious to know, what are the products on peoples sinks, their everyday toiletries. Not the ones that maybe an ad feature or collaboration, but the ones that get popped in the shopping basket week after week, month after month. The products that may not be as aesthetically pleasing, but always make the cut.
I'm not going to go through every single product I use, 'cause quite frankly you and me just don't have the time and if you're anything like me you haven't got the attention span for it either.
But I am going to show you the main players that I literally use everyday. Some I do switch up according to price and just to try out different products to see what I like and if something else works better or I just prefer.
My skin care routine is pretty simple these days. I've completely simplified it down, as I don't think my skin appreciated tons of different products being plastered on it on a daily basis.
OK, here we go....
+ Facewash - at the moment I'm using Revuele pure soft cleansing foam. I picked this up in Primor at the Boulevard as I needed a new facewash. To be honest I won't be re-buying it. It's absolutely fine as a facewash and it cleans my face, nice and neutral packaging so will look good on any sink, the price is good at €1.99, but unfortunately it does make my face feel dry. Which isn't what I want from a facewash. If it wasn't for the drying feeling I would buy it again no problem.
++ My usual absolute go-to facewash is Tesco kind & pure cleansing face wash. I had completely ran out of my stock and living in Spain I couldn't get to a Tesco to replace it. When we're in the UK and are checking a bag in the hold or travelling with the car I always buy a few of these to have in stock at home. Saying that we do have Supermarkets here that stock Tesco products, so I should check them out to see if they sell them there. OK, back to the task in hand. I always go for this facewash because it simply cleans my face nicely and my face always feels clean and fresh afterwards. I also like to use the scrub version too, which I usually use in the shower on my face so that I'm not using it everyday, I'm not sure it's good to scrub the face everyday? Just a personal preference.
+ Cleanser - at the moment I'm using Primarks P.S micellar cleansing water. This cleanser is a good product, it does the job and removes any dirt and grime. I don't really wear much make-up these days so I can't really comment how good it is to remove a full face of make-up. But to remove the day and maybe a dust of bronzer & blush this is absolutely fine. It's aesthetically pleasing and for 500ml it's only €1.85. I would re-buy this again. I've just started to cleanse only at night when I'm taking the day off. I use to do it in the morning too after I washed my face, but I'm not sure if this step is really needed for the morning. What do you guys think? Do you cleanse in the morning too?
+ Toner - Toner is something I am on a constant hunt for, to find one that really works. I've just started using one I picked up from Normal (unfortunately there isn't a link to specific products). It's Evoluderm lotion tonique. It's a French brand and so far it seems nice. Again, with all the toners I've used up to date they don't really seem to do much for my skin? This product feels nice and fresh on my face, I just haven't seen any results from it yet. Do you have thoughts on toners? I think they are recommended to use daily on your skin, have you found any that you recommend? I can't remember the exact price I paid, but I think it was really reasonable at around €4.50 for 500ml.
+ Moisturiser - Moisturiser is something I switch up quite a lot. I do tend to try new ones quite regularly as again I'm yet to find that perfect match for my skin. But one moisturiser I do always have on hand as a back up if you like and one I've been using as my night cream (as I'm trying a new moisturiser at the moment) is Tesco kind & pure refreshing daily moisturiser. This is a lovely moisturiser. It, to me does exactly what it says on the tin, or tube in this case. It's refreshing and moisturises. It also contains spf 30 which is really important to use daily, so if you forget to add a separate spf you know you're covered. The reason I don't have this as my ongoing all the time moisturiser is to be honest I think there could be something slightly better out there that gives just a bit more to my skin. Whether I'm being too picky I'm not sure, or maybe it is good to swap around moisturiser regularly? Do you religiously stick to the same one or like me try out new ones?
+ SPF - I use spf as my final step. We all know spf is super important and it should be used every day, even in winter and yes even if there is no sun, use your spf! I'll be honest I haven't always been good with my spf, but last spring something changed. I've got some sun damage on my face and the patches were really bothering me. So, I simply started using face spf everyday. As it got hotter in the summer I actually stopped using moisturiser in the day and just used my spf. And it really did make a difference. Even my husband commented how much better my face was looking! When the husband notices you know it's making a difference!
I'm trying out a new spf at the mo which I will definitely be sharing my thoughts on, on here soon, but I literally use either an Asda or Tesco face sun cream, both factor 50. The Asda one I did buy a few times, but when I went back to buy some more they didn't have it any longer. I'm not sure if they just didn't have any in stock when I was over or if they have stopped making it altogether. It's a shame if they have discontinued it as I did find that one to be really good. It was the one that kicked off me making sure I used spf everyday and made me change my skincare routine to include it. I then started to use Tesco Soleil Q10 face sun cream. This is a lovely sun cream for the face. It isn't greasy and it does feel like a regular face moisturiser, just with all the sun cream benefits. I also make sure I use it on my neck too. I've started to notice the crepey skin on my neck, but sadly I think the damage is done, but I'm hoping by using spf daily from now on it will start to protect it and not get any worse. So ladies if you're in your early twenties then start using that spf now, your future self will thank you for it, I promise!
So there we have it, my simple daily beauty products. I hope you've enjoyed today's post and having a nose at the products I use on a daily basis. As you've probably gathered I do like to try out new products so if you have any recommendations or just want to share what your daily products are, please share in the comments below.
♥ Heather
