Starting fresh: My new Instagram page

So... I've started a new Instagram page!

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Instagram and my original Instagram account has had many name changes over the years, but lately it's started to feel a bit stagnant.

It's the one where I'm connected to family, friends, colleagues from old jobs and random connections we make along the way. But for some reason I feel shy on there and don't feel I can fully be myself and share what I want to share.

Maybe it's that feeling of being judged or that because people 'know' you, you worry they'll think you're being a bit cringe. It's hard to explain, but if you know you know!

I made my original account private and I will still use it, but I've created a brand new space where I can just be me. If people from my old account do find me and follow along then I'll take that as a good sign, that they do genuinely want to be there.

So, let's get into the new page

I'm now over at @byheatherdaily

I want it to feel like a natural extension of my blog and adding daily just made sense, because that's exactly what it's about - everyday life.

A place to share my day to day goings on, my blog posts, snippets of life here in Spain and hopefully inspire others to see that life really can be pretty fab in your forties.

I also loved creating YouTube videos, but for now that's on pause (honestly, hats off to anyone uploading weekly - it's a lot!). So this new Instagram page will also be a way for me to micro vlog and still share those moments in a simpler way.

I'm seeing the new page as an all rounder really. It won't be perfectly curated or overly themed, instead it will be unapologetically real, a little bit random and very much me.

So that's the reasoning behind the new Instagram page. I just wanted a fresh space. Somewhere to share my blog, everyday life in Spain, positivity and all the little in between moments that make up real life.

I'd absolutely love to see you over there. If you do come and find me, leave a comment to say you're from the blog - even if you just wite 'blog' that would mean so much ♥

Heather
