laptop, coffee cup and cake on bed. giving cosy vibes

Hi gang ♥

Welcome back to the blog - I'm writing today from a very wet and rainy Spain.

I'm currently sitting on my bed under a blanket, comfy clothes and slouchy socks over my regular socks with three cats on me keeping me warm. And to be perfectly honest, I just can't find the motivation for today's blog post!

The weather's been a bit grim all week and I just haven't been able to get a blog post together. I have titles for some posts in drafts but I just can't find the words to put anything together.

I want to keep up the momentum of my Thursday posting schedule, which I know it probably doesn't really matter if I miss a week. It won't be noticed and it's not like its my job where I have a deadline to meet or a pay check depends on it. But I want to do it for me. Keep that consistency going and to show up even when I'm not feeling it.

So, last week I told you guys about my new YouTube channel. I am actually really enjoying filming vlogs and editing too. I still can't quite believe I've posted two weekly vlogs already and have my third ready and scheduled for next Tuesday. I really think along with blogging I have found the 'social media' I actually enjoy and want to keep creating on.

I mean it's still early early days. I'm still quite cringy to watch on the camera and I'm still getting the hang of the editing. But I'm really enjoying it.

I just can't quite stay consistent with Instagram anymore, Facebook is just for info it seems, TikTok I just can't get on with (I find it too noisy, haha, must be my age) and X/Twitter I've been trying to get back into, but again I'm not quite feeling it anymore.

YouTube really feels like it fits. It's bizarre, even though my videos are out there for the world to see, no make-up, no filters, but I feel comfortable with it. I think long form content is definitely for me. Which I never thought I'd be brave enough to post to YouTube, let alone want to keep posting every week.

I'm so chuffed with myself I just gave it ago, worked out the editing (with the help of Google and Chat GPT) and just got over myself and tried.

Also this week I had a dentist check up, have you seen my post on my recent Emdogain surgery? My dentist seems happy so far with the progress, the gum has sealed and healed up completely and on my next appointment at the end of April she'll take x-rays to see how the bone is doing. Fingers crossed it's starting to regenerate and the bone becomes healthy and strong again. I don't think the gum will ever grow back, apparently gums don't regrow, but there might be something they can do about the gap. We'll see though, I don't know if I want to go through anymore dental surgery! Not at the moment anyway.

I'm keeping up with my steps still and made sure I got my walk in this morning as the rain was forecast. I'm so pleased I did as the rain is super heavy and there's no way you could walk in it. Well you could, but you'd be drenched and probably end up with a cold. Both not fun.

I think I'm going to leave you guys here. I still need to hoover the bedroom and I think I'm going to make some of my Nutella hearts. Once Nas gets up that is! You can't disturb a cosy cat, it's the law!

Anyway, ciao friends and see you next week!

Happy weekend

♥ Heather

My experience with Emdogain

Hola mi amigos! Happy Thursday and welcome back to the blog. I hope everyone is well. I wanted to chat today about my recent Emdogain surgery. They call it surgery, but I guess it's really a procedure, as it's done under local anaesthetic, they just numbed the area of the gum and it was done at my dentist practice. Either way it wasn't a pleasant thing to go though. My sympathy goes out to you if you're having this done or anything to do with your teeth for that matter.  I think since I had braces about 5 or 6 years ago my pain threshold for the dentist has completely gone down to zero. I never used to mind going to the dentist, but recently I dread it. It's probably because I'm getting older and things are sadly starting to go wrong. It just feels like every time you go they suggest something else that will need attention. Anyway, with that aside let me tell you a little bit about Emdogain. Well how I understand it anyway and what I've been through with i...

Skincare routine revisited + Beauty of Joseon review

Hi guys welcome back to the blog ♥ Hope everyone's well and having a good week.  * * * Back in January I shared with you what skincare products I use daily and I mentioned I had bought a couple of new items which I would report back on. Here's the  link  to that post if you wanna quick read. About a week or so after writing that post I really started looking at my skin and to be honest it wasn't looking quite right. I always seem to have a red nose and red chin which does bother me. I don't drink alcohol very much at all, literally a glass of wine a month, if that, so it can't be alcohol related. I'm thinking maybe some sort of mild rosacea maybe or maybe it is my skin reacting to the products I use. I went on good old ChatGPT and that suggested I literally strip everything back basically and just use warm water to wash my face in the morning and minimise the products I'm using on my face. When I entered what I was using it recommended to stop using the to...

My daily beauty products

Hi Guys, I hope 2026 is treating you well so far. In my previous  post  I mentioned about some beauty products I had just started using and I will report to you my thought's in due course, but it got me to thinking about the products I already use on a daily basis. My bathroom staples if you like, the go-to's.  It's something I'm always curious to know, what are the products on peoples sinks, their everyday toiletries. Not the ones that maybe an ad feature or collaboration, but the ones that get popped in the shopping basket week after week, month after month. The products that may not be as aesthetically pleasing, but always make the cut. I'm not going to go through every single product I use, 'cause quite frankly you and me just don't have the time and if you're anything like me you haven't got the attention span for it either. But I am going to show you the main players that I literally use everyday. Some I do switch up according to price and ju...
