Now that we've headed into October and I guess a lot of us are starting to get those autumn feels. I've really been noticing a lot on social media and podcasts about the 'ber' months. I get it, it's the lead up to Christmas, we get those cosy vibes as the days are getting shorter, the leaves are falling from the trees, the seasons are really making a noticeable change, but it does feel that it's almost coming across that everyone should now be slowing down and almost writing off the next few months to hibernate.
I do understand that if you're in a chilly location for example, it's not the most inspiring time of year to go out when it's wet, windy and cold. But for me, I really feel I want to step things up.
I don't know if it's because we live in Spain and the weather is now beautiful, this is the best time of year I think anyway. As for me summer is more of the slower months, as it's so hot and sweaty you can't really do anything strenuous in the garden for example, because with the intense heat it just wipes you out. Even housework becomes a chore as you're just melting away while you're vacuuming the house.
So now as it's such a beautiful temperature here I really feel so much more inspired to work in the garden and start the diy jobs I've been thinking about all summer. I'm also feeling more inspired for my creative outlets e.g my Blog, YouTube, Instagram etc.
Don't get me wrong, I do love autumn so much, the fashion, the cooler days, it's the perfect excuse to start having hot chocolates and cosy evenings, but and I'm saying a big but here, we still have over three months of the year left to keep showing up on what you're working on. Whether that's something like a blog, a project, your health & fitness, a side hustle, it's not the time or excuse to slow up or take your foot off the gas.

I do understand that if you've had a busy summer it's a nice time to be able to slow things down and rest a little, but, I think we shouldn't just write off the next few months and only concentrate on Christmas.
Again, I love Christmas so much and I do get so excited to start seeing all the Christmas food and treats coming in the shops and I even saw some decorations in Action the other day too.
I absolutely love it and it can never be too early in my opinion, but that should almost be like the bit on the side. You know it's coming up, don't ignore it, just tackle the pending Christmas festivities little by little.
Which is why I think it's great to start having Christmas bits available in the shops early, as it is an expensive time of year for people and can become quite stressful and overwhelming. So if you can start buying a little bit each week over the next few months you'll be so much more ready and prepared for when the big day comes. You'll be like 'oh I already have pretty much everything sorted' winning.
We've already started buying a few bits and have a Christmas drawer in the spare fridge in the cellar and a box high up in the cupboard to stash the non fridge items.
I digressed a little there!
For me it's all just getting started and in a way it's given me a bit of a kick to really get back on with things.
I've started vlogging again this week and have actually enjoyed documenting little bits of life for the vlog.
As with every season, I think we should just embrace and enjoy what that brings and also not go into panic mode either. Just stay focused and keep chipping away.
Heather ♥
